Each year, several specialized chairs, partially or totally financed, are awarded to high calibur research institutes.
The chairs are awarded to finance a research program and/or remunerate one or two incumbent(s) partially or in total.
These AXA chairs can be:
- temporary (3-5 years)
- permanent. In this case, the research institution are endowed with nonexpendable capital which will generate sustainable resources.
Eligible applicants are research institutes with a high level of excellence and international scope situated within one of the European Union member states or within one of the Fund's partner countries [1].
[1] wich are : Switzerland, Israel, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Serbia, Albania, Montenegro and Singapore.
