AXA Research Fund Community Launch

2020

Open Science for an Open Society

By allowing us to understand the most important risks facing our planet, science is central to societal progress. With today’s rapidly changing technological landscape and the increasing power of data, Open science – developed though collaborative networks accessible to all – can drastically innovate the ways in which academia and the private sector tackle such risks.

AXA is committed to supporting science and encouraging researchers to share their work with the larger public. With €189 million, the AXA Research Fund has, since 2007, supported over 600 projects in 36 different countries in the fields of Health, Climate and Environment, Socio-economics, and New Technologies.

The AXA Research Fund Community

Eleven years after its launch, the AXA Research Fund’s community has grown to over 600 extraordinary researchers of 58 different nationalities. In the aim of building further relationships with – and between – our grantees, we are pleased to announce the launch of the AXA Research Fund Community – a global network of scientists working towards societal progress.

This daylong conference will bring together AXA-supported researchers, the AXA Research Fund’s Scientific Board and AXA practitioners to discuss open and accessible science and the relationship between academia and the private sector. The event will conclude with a Gala dinner at AXA’s Headquarters in central Paris.
