Chair in Air pollution and Health
Prof Sverre Vedal’s purpose is to assess the effects of short-term air pollution exposure on human health. He will study subjects near heavily trafficked roadways and inside residences in heavily polluted Chinese urban areas, with and without protective measures such as highly-effective masks or home air purifiers.
Research Outline
His research will provide a strong scientific basis for both short-term and long-term public health interventions, in order to reduce the substantial cardiopulmonary health impacts of exposure to air pollution.
